For brands

Will this work on our existing Shopify theme?

Yes. Virtue Mirage installs as a Shopify Theme App Extension — it works on any theme, Liquid or Hydrogen, custom or stock. No theme rebuild, no headless migration, no SDK to integrate. Your store stays your store.

Setup takes about 15 minutes. The only theme touchpoint is deciding where the Mirror Toggle sits in your nav and how you want to label it.

How much engineering work is required on our side?

Zero engineering time. The Theme App Extension handles installation. We supply the Mirror Toggle component and you place it in your Shopify Theme Editor like any other section.

For brands on Hydrogen / headless: same story — we ship a React component, not an SDK with breaking changes.

What's the conversion / returns / AOV impact we should expect?

Pilot-stage figures from controlled tests with early brands:

+22% conversion lift on personalised PDPs vs the same product shown on a stock model.

−35% size-driven returns. Customers stop bracketing when they can see the garment on their own body with their own measurements pre-mapped to your size matrix.

+18% AOV via the "Complete the Look" cross-sell — every product page becomes a styled outfit, with the recommended trouser/knit/shoe already on the customer.

For context: Australia's online returns problem is now $20bn/year, with retailers paying around $22 per returned item to process. We sit upstream of that cost.

We benchmark per brand during the first 30 days of every onboarding so the numbers you quote internally are based on your products, not industry averages.

What about images of products that pre-date a customer's avatar?

By default, we render forward-only — only products uploaded after the customer creates their avatar are batch-rendered. This protects your generation budget.

If a customer visits an older product page, they can do a one-tap Bespoke Try-On for that item, which is then cached forever. Brands can also manually trigger a backfill over older products via the tenant dashboard.

What if we exceed our monthly AI generation cap?

Top-up packs are available on-demand — 1,000 tokens for A$899, 2,500 for A$2,099, or 5,000 for A$3,499 — on every plan, any number of times. (1 token = 1 generation; 4 tokens = 1 customer avatar.)

Why is the per-avatar fee charged to the brand and not the shopper?

Because a free customer experience converts. Any paywall in front of "see yourself in this product" kills the moment — the shopper bounces, the brand loses a buying signal, and the AI try-on never gets to do its job.

The brand absorbs the cost from its monthly token allowance (4 tokens per avatar — a fraction of the value recovered in lower returns and stronger AOV).

What's the cross-brand network?

When a customer creates their Digital Twin on one Virtue Mirage brand, it works on every other Virtue Mirage brand by default — clearly disclosed at sign-up. Each brand renders in its own aesthetic — same identity, your visual signature.

Customers can untick cross-brand sharing at onboarding, or revoke it from their account at any time. Brands opt in to the network once. Either side can revoke at any time.

The network compounds with every brand that joins — by brand five, new customers are onboarding with zero friction because their Twin already exists.

For shoppers

How are my photos handled? Are they stored?

The original photos you upload are deleted immediately after the avatar is generated — they're never stored, archived, or used for training. Only the rendered avatar (your Digital Twin) lives on, encrypted in Google Cloud Storage, accessible only to you and the brand you granted access to.

Can I update or delete my avatar?

You can fully delete your avatar at any time — email hello@virtuemirage.com.au from the address you used at the brand's checkout.

To update your avatar (re-create it with new photos), you can do this after the 12-month identity lock expires from creation. Some brands offer a 3-month or 6-month window — check with the brand directly. The lock is to prevent abuse and ensure consistency, not to limit you.

Do I have to pay anything?

No. The avatar fee is paid by the brand, not by you. The whole experience — creating your Twin, seeing yourself in every product, the AI Stylist Concierge, restaging looks — is free for the shopper.

Does Virtue Mirage work across brands?

Yes — by default. Your Digital Twin travels with you across every brand on the Virtue Mirage network — same identity, each brand's own aesthetic. We disclose this clearly during onboarding and you can untick it at sign-up, or revoke it from your account page at any time.

If you'd rather keep things per-brand, opt out and each brand will treat you as a new customer.
